In Georgia, they will begin issuing licenses for the distribution of foreign online gambling games
Georgia has fully launched an international licensing system for iGaming operators. Approved companies will be able to legally offer online gambling to the country's residents.
Under the new regulations, the license will be issued for a period of five years and will apply to only one site. Obtaining this license requires a fee—an annual charge of 100,000 lari ($38,400). Additionally, operators will be mandated to pay a tax of 5% on gross gaming revenue. However, reinvested profits will not be taxed.
Contrary to companies' concerns, establishing a representative office in Georgia is not necessary to obtain a license.
The legal groundwork for the new regime was prepared in Georgia as early as June, and the system went through a preliminary launch phase in mid-summer.
