Trophy Games, headquartered in Copenhagen, has announced its acquisition of Playrion, the creator of popular titles such as Airlines Manager and Airport Simulator: First Class, based in Paris.

Owned by Paradox Interactive since 2020, Playrion is being sold to Trophy Games. The studio employs approximately 30 people and reports annual revenue of about $4.6 million (€4.0 million).

According to a report from MobileGamer.biz, Trophy Games is purchasing Playrion for $2.6 million (€2.25 million) in cash with no debt assumed. Additionally, Paradox will earn 9% of Playrion's net revenue over the next three years.

The acquisition is set to finalize by September 30, 2026, making it the most significant transaction in Trophy Games' history. Playrion will remain independent in its Paris location.

Søren Gleie, CEO, stated, "We have observed Playrion's journey for four years and are well-acquainted with its games and market. This acquisition aligns with our strategy to leverage their established success," noting the impact of Airport Simulator: First Class.

Trophy Games is optimistic about rapid gains, anticipating that leveraging their marketing, data, and technology expertise will enhance Playrion's current game portfolio.

Gleie highlighted their growth trajectory, which has seen revenues quadruple over five years. They plan to launch six new games within the next year and emphasize their financial readiness for substantial acquisitions. He noted, "Playrion represents our largest acquisition to date and a significant step in our ongoing growth strategy."

The company has revised its revenue forecast upward, now estimating a range of $25.9-27.4 million (DKK 170 million-180 million), compared to the earlier $22.8-25.4 million (DKK 150 million-167 million).
