PlayFirst shared the secret of increasing downloads

By combining iPhone and iPad versions of apps, PlayFirst achieved 85% growth in downloads and 80% growth in IAP revenue.

In January of this year, the American company PlayFirst made an unexpected decision: to make all versions of games from the Dash series universal applications – that is, instead of two separate programs – one for iPhone, the other for iPad – to make one.

According to the company’s representatives, after that, downloads of their flagship application – Diner Dash – jumped by 85% and amounted to more than 2 million installations.

Other games of the company – including Wedding Dash and Hotel Dash – also showed good results, and the Cooking Dash game got into the American top 5 free games after this application was also made universal in February.

Another result of the transition to a new distribution model was an 80% increase in profits from micropayments.

“Taking advantage of the new features of the platform, we saw an increase in demand for those games, in this case Diner Dash, which have been released on iOS for about two years,” said Chris Williams, one of the company’s vice presidents.
