Former Epic Games employees have opened a studio called The Drop Circuit
At the beginning of the year, Epic Games conducted massive layoffs, saying goodbye to more than a thousand employees. Five of them decided not to seek employment in existing studios but to establish their own—it’s called The Drop Circuit.

According to the LinkedIn profile of The Drop Circuit's head, Rick Cody, the studio was formally opened back in March, but the developers have only now publicly announced its launch.
The Drop Circuit plans to create music games for UGC platforms—primarily for Fortnite, as they are most familiar with it. In an interview with GamesBeat, the studio leaders emphasized that their projects will be released in Fortnite on equal terms. Despite their years of experience at Epic Games, they will not receive any privileges from the company.
Alongside the studio's announcement, the developers reported the release of their debut game. On September 17, they launched Go Viral Tycoon—an island in Fortnite where users are tasked with building virtual stages and creating short music videos on a given theme, then voting on the best clips. Whether The Drop Circuit has any ideas for future games is not disclosed.
