In Buenos Aires, they now charge a 2% tax on winnings from online slots
The authorities of Buenos Aires Province in Argentina have introduced a special levy for online gambling with instant winnings. This includes online slots, and the rate is set at 2%.
Currently, the levy applies to seven licensed platforms: Bet365, Betano, Betsson, BetWarrior, BPlay, Sportsbet, and Stake.
The province expects the levy to generate between 35 to 40 billion Argentine pesos monthly for the budget. In U.S. dollars, this is approximately 23.2 to 26.5 million.
It is worth noting that the legal framework to collect such a levy was formally established in the province’s legislation back in 2018. However, the 2% rate has only been specified now.
