Achievements for games that have not yet been released or officially announced have surfaced on aggregator platforms like Exophase and SteamDB

Several games, including some that have not yet been announced or released, had their achievements revealed on Steam. These titles include Fable, Persona 6, Kingdom Hearts 4, and Control Resonant.

The founder of GameDiscoverCo, Simon Carless, explained that a significant bug related to achievements was introduced by Valve following a routine maintenance update.

"Consequently, all Steam achievement data, even for unreleased or unannounced games, are being captured by automated data collectors like Exophase and SteamDB," Carless reported.

Mike Bendel, who owns Exophase, clarified on ResetEra that this occurrence was due to an error on Valve's part rather than a typical data breach. He noted that many games with intended private achievement details were accessible via API, resulting in their appearance on the site.

Other entries impacted by this issue, as noted by Gematsu, include Gears of War: E-Day, Clutch, Horizon Hunters Gathering, Ace Combat 8, Metro 2039, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Stranger Than Heaven, Rayman Legends: Retold, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

Valve has been contacted by GamesIndustry.biz for additional clarification.

Previously, in July, Valve confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that a cyberattack on their logistical partner, CEVA Logistics, compromised the data of their European clients between July 29 and August 1. The breach was reported to Valve on August 7.
