A strategic reorganization by Star Stable Entertainment, a studio based in Sweden, has resulted in a workforce reduction of 20%.

Interim CEO James Watkins explained on LinkedIn that the decision is aimed at ensuring the company's sustainability. Star Stable Entertainment is widely recognized for the popular multiplayer game, Star Stable Online, centered on horse adventures.

Watkins remarked on the tough nature of the layoffs and emphasized the value of the departing staff's contributions.

He stated that by lowering operational expenses and redirecting resources, the company aims to better position itself for future success and player satisfaction.

He also highlighted the company's immediate commitment to supporting outgoing employees, expressing gratitude for their commitment and creativity.

In 2021, the gaming firm saw a shift in ownership as Nordisk Games acquired a majority holding.

Nordisk Games now holds 57% of the company shares, after first acquiring a significant minority stake valued at $17 million in May 2018, followed by purchasing an additional 40% later the same year.
