French company DON'T NOD is running out of money, with only enough funds left for a few months of operation
The creators of Remember Me and Life Is Strange are on the brink of closure.
Recently, the studio reported its financial results for the first half of 2026 and also shared its overall situation.
▫️During the reporting period, it earned 6.1 million euros.
▫️This was not enough to cover all expenses. DON’T NOD went negative by 4.3 million euros.
▫️Last year, the company was also in the red: in the first half of 2025, it was down 2 million euros, and in the second half, down 10.3 million.
▫️As of the end of July 2026, the company had 8 million euros left in the bank. Considering available funds and cash flow forecasts, its future after January 31, 2027, is uncertain.
▫️Continuing operations depend on securing external funding.
▫️The company had previously taken measures to improve efficiency, but these are now being adjusted.
▫️The first adjustment is the abandonment of parallel development. The studio will now work on only one game at a time.
▫️The second adjustment is potential staffing cuts. The studio is considering laying off 90 people. It's unclear how many currently work at DON’T NOD. However, it likely involves laying off about half of the staff: in 2022, the studio employed 320 people, and it has already undergone layoffs since then.
