NVIDIA will add DLSS 5 support to its 40 series cards

The announcement coincided with the release of the first game to officially support the technology "out of the box."

NBA 2K27

What happened:

  • A representative from NVIDIA's PR department officially stated that the DLSS 5 technology will not be exclusive to RTX 50-based cards — later it will also be supported by solutions built on the Ada Lovelace architecture;
  • No time frame for when the technology might appear on older generation graphics cards was provided — currently, NVIDIA engineers are still working on optimizing the resource-intensive feature for RTX 50;
  • According to official PR data, technical specialists have already achieved a lot: since the technology's announcement in March, performance has improved fivefold, while it has become lighter, delivers more realistic visuals, and provides developers with more control options;
  • Simultaneously with the statement, the release of the sports simulator NBA 2K27 from 2K took place, the first game in which DLSS 5 can be officially enabled without downloading libraries from GitHub and configuring it independently.
