There are almost 1 million iPad owners in Russia

Yandex counted more than 700 thousand Russian users of the “apple” tablet. And this is only according to minimal estimates. 

The search company took into account only those iPads whose activity could be recorded on sites with Yandex.Metrica counters in the period from January 16 to January 22, 2012. It can be assumed that many owners of the device during the reporting period have never been to sites with a Metric.

As for the dynamics, in 2011 the number of Internet surfers using iPads in Moscow and the Moscow region increased by 5 times, in the regions by 7 times. So at the end of January this year, the share of iPad users, according to official Yandex data, among all Internet users in Russia reached the mark of 1%.    

The company also reports that the tablet in Russia is usually used while at home in the evening. Of all requests, almost 57% are in the evening. So it turns out that the iPad for Russians is, to a greater extent, a home device.
