Supercell is in the process of acquiring Metacore, with both parties having signed an agreement anticipated to conclude by the end of this month, as noted in a recent announcement by the Finnish mobile developer.

Initially revealed in May, the details of the acquisition will remain confidential. Supercell is incorporating Metacore's first game, Merge Mansion, into its collection of live games. As the acquisition proceeds, Supercell assured that its games would remain unchanged, and the Merge Mansion team is committed to its established community.

Mika Tammenkoski, CEO of Metacore, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating it opens new opportunities for the game, the team, and the players. He emphasized that Supercell’s long-standing expertise offers Merge Mansion a solid foundation for ongoing success, while the player community will continue to be a priority.

Sara Bach, Supercell's president, praised Merge Mansion for pioneering a new genre, highlighting its elements that foster long-term engagement: a strong brand, devoted player base, and distinctive gameplay and story.

She remarked on Supercell's excitement to welcome the Merge Mansion team and to collaborate on future developments for the game.

By 2025, Supercell achieved year-over-year expansion in its live games sector, with a monthly audience of approximately 290 million active users. The company noted a slight annual revenue decline of 4% to €2.65 billion, though pre-tax profits increased by 6%, totaling €932 million.

Supercell enhanced its commitment to new game development in 2025, with CEO Ilkka Paananen revealing plans to further double that investment. He discussed the company’s contrary approach amid industry cutbacks, driven by the robust performance of existing titles, particularly Clash Royale. Paananen emphasized their advantageous position and intention to utilize it for future endeavors.
