Roblox is set to launch a headquarters in Riyadh, which will bolster its creator initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

According to Pocket Gamer, the move gains backing from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment, along with associations like the Riyadh Creative District and the General Authority of Media Regulation.

"Choosing Riyadh for our regional headquarters illustrates Roblox's deep commitment to the long-term digital economy goals outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030," stated Mohamed El Sheakh, General Manager for MENA and Türkiye at Roblox.

El Sheakh also commented on enhancing existing collaborations in the domains of education, creator advancement, and gaming, aiming to foster Saudi Arabia's vision of becoming a leading gaming center.

Earlier this year, a collaboration with Savvy Games Group was declared to bring Roblox’s technological resources to the gaming sphere in the region.

Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki noted the partnership's role in "reducing technical hurdles for aspiring creators globally, thus broadening access to game development."

This collaborative effort strives to support the growth of Saudi Arabia's creator network, aligning with Vision 2030's objectives.

"Investing in educational opportunities for Saudi youth is crucial for nurturing the Kingdom’s burgeoning digital economy," affirmed Baszucki.

This step reinforces the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which targets the diversification of the economy and improvement of the nation's international standing. Part of the plan involves substantial investments in gaming, with plans to build 250 gaming and esports enterprises and generate 39,000 positions by 2030.
