GDEV sold the mobile farming simulator Island Hoppers
The company GDEV has unexpectedly decided to part ways with one of its games — Island Hoppers. This was announced in its latest financial report.

According to GDEV, it signed a sales agreement on August 13, 2026. At that time, an "unaffiliated" third party agreed to purchase Island Hoppers along with all game-related assets and intellectual property. GDEV did not specify the exact buyer.
It is known that the maximum purchase price could reach up to $5 million. Of this, GDEV has already received $4.5 million, with the remaining $500,000 to be transferred if Island Hoppers meets certain gross revenue conditions.
To recap, Island Hoppers was soft-launched in November 2021 and reached a global launch two years later. The game had a fairly strong start. During the soft launch phase, it managed to generate over $30 million, and by June 2024, Island Hoppers' revenue had reached $47 million.
It is not clear how much total revenue Island Hoppers has generated to date, but GDEV mentioned it accounted for 3% of the company’s deferred revenue by the end of 2025 (approximately $3.53 million) and 1% of deferred revenue for the first half of 2026 (approximately $1.56 million).
