Konami's Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is scheduled to go offline next month
Konami has revealed plans to discontinue Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls next month.
Starting August 20, the game will no longer be available on Apple Arcade, and as of September 3, it will be entirely inactive. After this point, players will not be able to access the game.
In a statement on its official website, Konami expressed, "Since its debut on Apple Arcade in September 2021, the game has thrived with the support of numerous players. Yet, we've elected to discontinue the game [in September]."
Konami also conveyed appreciation to its players for their passionate backing, acknowledging the work of the development and operations team along this journey.
Initially launched in Canada in September 2019 as a free-to-play game, Grimoire of Souls was available for iOS and Android before its closure a year later. It was then reintroduced on Apple Arcade, compatible with iOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and Mac, where in-game purchases and currency were removed, and enhancements in layout and visuals were made.
Grimoire of Souls is one of several titles set to be discontinued shortly. Other games following a similar path include Mario Kart Tour, ceasing in September, Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem in October, and Destruction AllStars in November.
