The pixelated strategy game Arco paid off two years after its release

Recently, Arco — a fantasy turn-based game with pixel art style — celebrated its second anniversary. On this occasion, its composer José Ramón, in an interview with Game Developer, boasted that the game has finally recouped its production costs.

How much Arco has earned exactly — Ramón did not specify. According to estimates from the analytical service Gamalytic, the revenue from the Steam version alone may currently amount to $792,000. Considering that Arco is also available in the Epic Game Store, Mac App Store, and on Nintendo Switch, the total revenue should be higher, though the exact figure remains unknown.

The composer mentioned that to date, Arco has sold over 100,000 copies. It was purchased most actively in Steam, with many buyers often playing on the Steam Deck.

"This milestone is especially satisfying from a morale standpoint. It's simply incredible that more than 100,000 people played — and hopefully enjoyed — what we worked so hard on," added Ramón.

Arco was released on August 15, 2024. The game was developed by a team of four indie developers and published by Panic.
