HandyGames has adopted the name THQ Nordic Mobile as it pivots to adapting premium PC and console games for mobile devices. The enterprise, headquartered in Germany, had previously released mobile versions of games like Wreckfest, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, and Titan Quest. This transition brings its publishing activities more closely aligned with the broader THQ Nordic brand, facilitating a push into mobile renditions of established franchised titles.

The development team, based in Giebelstadt, Germany, will retain the HandyGames label for its operations. This division will focus on creating original games and aiding in the technical tasks necessary for THQ Nordic Mobile's projects. The company’s co-founders, Christopher Kassulke and Markus Kassulke, continue to lead both the publishing arm and the studio.

According to THQ Nordic, the reshuffle will not disrupt existing development processes, support for active games, or current licensing contracts.

In 2018, THQ Nordic acquired HandyGames, taking ownership of all its intellectual properties. Further details can be found through their official statement.
