Amazon has addressed its position regarding a sequel to "007: First Light," suggesting that due to the success of the initial release, IOI should be responsible for its development.

Amazon Game Studios and Amazon Luna's general manager, Jeff Gattis, recently addressed past statements about future installments of 007: First Light, suggesting MGM and possibly Amazon Game Studios might be involved.

The game "007: First Light," produced and released by IO Interactive, is connected to the James Bond franchise, which Amazon holds the rights to.

Gattis told GamesIndustry.biz that decisions regarding a follow-up to 007: First Light remain unsettled. He noted, "We haven't made any announcements regarding who will publish or create the next sequel for Bond."

Referring to comments from IOI CEO Hakan Abrak, he mentioned, "The subject hasn't been fully broached yet. The current game is impressive, naturally leading to expectations of a sequel. While Amazon holds the rights, ensuring the game's quality is paramount rather than centralizing everything within Amazon."

Given this title's favorable reception, it seems logical that IOI would be the developer for any subsequent projects.

On the topic of a possible acquisition of IO Interactive by Amazon, Gattis stated, "While possibilities are endless, there are no ongoing discussions about it at this time."
