The Chinese corporation Alibaba might divest its gaming brand Lingxi Games, local media report. According to their information, Alibaba has already approached several potential buyers.

It is claimed that Alibaba is discussing the sale of Lingxi Games with 37Games, Zhejiang Century Huatong, Giant Network, and China Ruyi. Private investors have also shown interest in the potential deal. No agreements have been signed yet, so there are no guarantees that any of these parties will ultimately become the new owner of Lingxi Games.
According to media reports, Lingxi Games is preliminarily valued at 7-9 billion yuan or 1-1.33 billion dollars.
The primary reason for selling Lingxi Games, according to the media, is a shift in Alibaba’s strategy. In recent years, the company has been actively developing artificial intelligence and paying less attention to video games. Notably, in 2025, it removed Lingxi Games from its entertainment division and placed it under the direct management of CFO Toby Xu, thereby allegedly classifying it as a non-core asset.
Under the Lingxi Games brand, dozens of games have been released to date, but it is best known for the mobile strategy game Three Kingdoms Tactics, which debuted in 2019. According to Sensor Tower's estimates, the game generated over 1 billion dollars in revenue by 2021. How much it has earned to date is unknown, but the amount has undoubtedly increased.
