The head of the studio, Mark Gordon, has left Treyarch

He worked at Treyarch for 22 years. Under the leadership of Mark Gordon, the studio released all parts of Call of Duty: Black Ops and several other games in the franchise.

As announced by Treyarch on social media, Gordon decided to retire to “focus on the next chapter of his life.” It is not specified what exactly he plans to do next.

Now Treyarch will be led by two specialists: Kevin Hendrickson, who previously held the position of the studio's Chief Operations Officer, and Yale Miller, the former Production Director of Treyarch.

Notably, Gordon’s resignation coincided with the departure of two top managers from XBOX. Yesterday, on June 15, it became known that Microsoft’s gaming division was left by XBOX Game Studios head Craig Duncan and Chief of Staff Louise O’Connor. All this happened amid rumors of impending layoffs at XBOX in July and the potential closure of several studios.
