Frontier Developments achieved its second-best revenue figures, reaching £104.8 million for fiscal year 2026, a 16% increase. Operating profit also climbed to £19 million, setting a new high compared to the previous peak of £15.9 million in fiscal year 2019.

The British developer attributed this financial success to its targeted emphasis on creative management simulation (CMS) games, which now compose 90% of the year's revenue. The Jurassic World Evolution series played a significant role in this accomplishment, with strong player engagement with the latest release.

Besides Jurassic World, Frontier maintained robust income through its Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo franchises, with Planet Zoo being highlighted as their "most successful game to date."

The company is working on a fresh CMS game within the Planet series that utilizes its own intellectual property. This initiative is part of Frontier's commitment to issuing one CMS game annually, aiming for sustained growth via high-caliber, enduring game franchises.

Apart from CMS titles, adjustments to content strategies for Elite Dangerous, their online multiplayer game, resulted in increased player involvement and annual revenue gains.

Looking towards fiscal year 2027, Frontier anticipates a promising start with Jurassic World Evolution 3's release on Xbox Game Pass and an additional expansion linked to the upcoming 2025 film, Jurassic World Rebirth.

The anticipated performance in FY27 is expected to gain further momentum with the launches of Planet Zoo 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch.

"Heartfelt thanks go to our talented team and incredible players for enabling an exceptional FY26, marked by record financial achievements," stated Frontier Developments CEO Jo Cooke.

She further acknowledged the remarkable transformation of the business over the past three years, initiated by former CEO Jonny Watts. The company is poised for more achievements, with three new games planned across FY27 and FY28.

In 2023, Frontier made a strategic decision to focus on CMS games, citing that they generally offer "stronger and more predictable returns" compared to their other ventures.

At that time, attempts at diversifying into third-party publishing and different genres did not meet their success expectations. Furthermore, an organizational review led to unspecified job cuts within the company.
