Last week, Fortnite made a significant return on iOS across the globe, excluding Australia, with approximately 3.4 million downloads. This achievement has set an eight-year record high for the game.

Data provided by AppMagic, as reported by PocketGamer, reveals that this period was the best seven-day stretch for Fortnite since it first launched in 2018.

With 3.4 million downloads, these numbers were just under the 3.7 million from its launch week, but higher than the 3.1 million of its second week, marking the fourth-highest week on the App Store for the game.

Saudi Arabia was leading the tally with 474,000 downloads, followed by France with 366,000, and the UK with 307,000. In contrast, the United States saw 151,000 downloads.

The relaunch also triggered a boost in daily activities, with installs jumping by 1,408% from about 19,000 on May 18 to nearly 290,000 the following day, peaking at 674,000 on May 23.

This peak daily download figure was close to the all-time high set during the original iOS debut, which was 764,000.

The recent activity also surpassed a previous daily high of 569,000, achieved on May 24, 2025, after the game regained its presence on iOS in the US.

Initially released on iOS in March 2018, Fortnite was removed in 2020 owing to a breach of App Store guidelines.

Prior to recent developments, the game had made a return to select areas, including the US, last year. The current re-release broadens its reach to significant markets such as Germany, the UK, Canada, and Japan.

Nonetheless, it remains inaccessible in Australia, with Epic Games citing an "illegal payment arrangement with Apple" as the reason.
