Gamecity Hamburg allocates up to €80,000 each to five games in its recent Prototype Funding Round
Gamecity Hamburg has awarded five digital games with grants of up to €80,000 each during its latest Prototype Funding Round. This financial support facilitates Hamburg-based developers in transforming their concepts into market-ready prototypes. The application window for the subsequent funding round will commence in September 2026.
The projects that received funding are as follows:
- Manor Cartographer by Pipapo Games, a horror puzzle adventure – granted €80,000
- Odem by Odd Zeroes, a roguelike deck-builder – granted €80,000
- Welken by Studio Gutheil, a narrative survival horror – granted €60,000
- Ungradable: Twisted Card Grading by Chasmic Drop Studio, a horror simulation – granted €48,000
- Wrong Horse by Bird Outside Studio, a murder mystery adventure – granted €40,000
Previously, Pipapo Games, Chasmic Drop, and Bird Outside took part in the Games Lift Incubator from Gamecity Hamburg. This initiative supports five teams by helping them develop games and prepare for their market debut.
Participants in the Games Lift Incubator benefit from €15,000 in funding, alongside coaching, mentorship, workshops, and personalized assistance. Applications for the incubator program will remain open until June 1, 2026.
The selection of the five funded games was made by an awarding committee comprising:
- Nina Müller from Goodgame Studios, VP of Publishing & Development Services
- Jonas Hüsges from Daedalic Entertainment, COO
- Valentina Birke, Director at Indie Arena Booth/Super Crowd Entertainment
- Karsten Schwaiger, Head of the Media and Digital Economy Department at Hamburg's Ministry of Culture and Media
- Dennis Schoubye, Head of Gamecity Hamburg
