Sony has funded over a hundred games in the current console generation
With remarkable consistency, Sony's gaming division invests in projects by third-party developers, claims Christian Svensson, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In an interview with The Game Business, Svensson stated that Sony has provided partial or full funding for more than 120 games for the PlayStation 5. This is in addition to games that have received investments as part of the Hero Project—a special support program for developers from China, India, and several other countries.
According to Svensson, these are relatively small amounts. Such investments are beneficial for both parties: developers receive financial support, while Sony gains additional content for its consoles.
“If you talk to Hideaki Nishino, head of SIE, who has a very strong product background, he will tell you: ‘PlayStation without content is just a plastic box.’ And the lion’s share of this content is created by third-party developers. Therefore, it is crucial that we continue to actively develop this direction, act ambitiously, and attract new voices to the platform,” Svensson explained.
Svensson did not provide specific examples of games that Sony has invested in.
