Capcom has experienced a rise in profits in all sectors for the ninth year in a row, largely fueled by its central digital content division. Games like Resident Evil Requiem, alongside robust franchise catalogue sales, played a significant role.

The digital content sector saw a 15.3% uptick in sales, reaching ¥144.2 billion ($914 million). Additionally, there was an 8.4% increase in operating profit, totaling ¥70.6 billion ($447.4 million).

This segment delivered a record 59.07 million units sold, marking an increase of over 7.1 million compared to the year before.

Financial Overview

For the fiscal year concluding on March 31, 2026:

  • Net Sales: ¥195.6 billion ($1.2 billion), representing a 15.2% rise year-on-year
  • Net Income: ¥54.5 billion ($345.4 million), up by 12.7% compared to the previous year

Key Developments

Released on February 27, 2026, Requiem quickly achieved sales figures of over five million copies within just five days. By April, this number grew to seven million, establishing it as the fastest-selling game in the Resident Evil series.

The excellent sales figures and positive reception of Requiem also invigorated Resident Evil series catalogue sales, notably benefiting Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village.

Catalogue titles recorded sales of 49.46 million units, surpassing last year's 39.49 million units.

Beyond Requiem's influence, the Monster Hunter series witnessed sales growth, highlighted by the latest spin-off, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

Aiming to broaden its audience, Capcom pursued a multiplatform strategy, which included adapting catalogue games for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Growth was also noted in Capcom's esports and media units. The popularity of the Devil May Cry series on Netflix spurred sales of Devil May Cry 5 and previous titles through strategic pricing and promotional activities.

Japan's arcade sector, including merchandise operations, achieved ¥25.5 billion ($161.6 million) in net sales, increasing by 12.8%. The operating profit for this segment increased by 31.6% to ¥3.2 billion ($20.2 million).

Capcom's amusement operations, which feature branded pachi-slot machines, saw net sales climb by 13.9% to ¥17.7 billion ($112.1 million), with operating profit growing 49.7% to ¥10 billion ($63.3 million).

For the upcoming fiscal year, Capcom projects net sales to reach ¥210 billion ($1.3 billion, up 7.5%) and net income to rise to ¥58 billion ($367.5 million, up 6.3%).

The company plans to "enhance long-term pricing strategies and global sales" to accomplish its target of 100 million annual unit sales in their main digital content sector.
