The IG50 program by Into Games, aimed at assisting emerging developers from working-class backgrounds, will reopen next month

Into Games has begun accepting applications for IG50, its yearly initiative that highlights "50 of the most promising individuals not yet employed in the UK gaming sector, stemming from working-class and low-income backgrounds."

Marking its fifth anniversary, IG50 is backed by Ubisoft as a leading sponsor, which provides paid internships lasting up to three months with studios across the UK.

The initiative also grants free tickets and accommodation for Develop:Brighton 2026, aimed at nurturing rising talents who might otherwise be overlooked due to "systemic challenges related to class and income."

Declan Cassidy, CEO of Into Games, stated, "The IG50 was created because talent is equally distributed, but opportunities aren't. Having Ubisoft as our sponsor signifies their alignment with this perspective as a major industry player. Our Boost program led to 11 placements from the 2025 group, proving this program is more than just recognition; it's a recruitment tool. There are countless skilled individuals from diverse backgrounds who should be part of this industry, and our goal is to discover the best among them."

Michael Burnham, Studio Manager at Ubisoft Reflections, commented, "Our industry benefits from increased creative diversity, and we are thrilled to support this effort. Initiatives like IG50 encourage a wider audience to embark on their gaming careers, and I'm eager to meet the participants of this year's group."

Applications open on May 24, and interested individuals can register at intogames50.uk.

According to Into Games, all 11 winners from the 2025 group have secured paid employment within the UK gaming industry through their Boost placement program.
