Google has 700 thousand activations per day

The Android platform has reached astronomical figures in the number of daily activations. The vice president of the company explains what the company means by the word “activation”.

Google Vice President Andy Rubin said that 700 thousand Android-based devices are activated daily. On his page on the Google+ social network, he clarified that the company counts each device only once, so sales of devices on the secondary market are not taken into account.

Activation, according to Rubin, refers to the purchase of a gadget and the first access from it to the network with a subscription to wireless services.

Recall that a month ago Google announced 550 thousand daily downloads. In June, their number was 500 thousand, and in May – 400 thousand. Also a month ago, according to Google, only 200 million Android devices were activated in the world.
