Five development studios have joined forces to establish the developer-led holding Nova Assembly
Five independent gaming studios have come together to form Nova Assembly, an alliance driven by developers to exchange resources and knowledge.
The coalition includes Unfrozen, known for "Iratus: Lord of the Dead," Sad Cat Studios, the creators behind "Replaced," VEA Games with "Nikoderiko: The Magical World," Weappy, famous for the "This is Police" series, and the mobile game developer Game Garden.
At present, Nova Assembly is working on ten different game projects. "Replaced," a platformer from Sad Cat Studios, is set to be the first release, targeting an April 14, 2026 launch date.
The alliance intends to form a publishing arm to take charge of marketing, distributing, and maintaining direct interaction with their fanbase.
An open letter from the founders indicates that each studio will continue to develop its respective titles while offering mutual support.
"Creating a cohesive entity that unites five commercially viable and promising gaming studios facilitates the sharing of critical insights gathered over years, as well as the more strategic application of pooled resources," remarked Denis Fedorov, CEO of Nova Assembly and founder of Unfrozen. "This approach preserves creative autonomy, which is crucial in staying competitive within today's demanding industry."
Previously, Ubisoft and Hooded Horse collaborated to publish Unfrozen's "Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era".
In 2023, Sad Cat Studios achieved a $5 million investment led by GEM Capital for the development of upcoming projects, including "Replaced," which was initially unveiled in 2021.
