Media: Developers of Star Wars Eclipse risk losing NetEase investments
The studio Quantic Dream is working "very slowly" on its next game — the adventure action title Star Wars Eclipse. This is reported by the Insider Gaming portal, citing sources.

It is reported that while a significant portion of Star Wars Eclipse is complete, at the current development pace, the remainder may take several more years.
According to Insider Gaming's sources, the issue partly stems from a lack of personnel on the Quantic Dream team. The studio has already discussed with its parent company NetEase the possibility of expanding the staff, but was denied — the Chinese giant considered it impractical from a long-term perspective.
Now, Insider Gaming claims, both Quantic Dream and NetEase are counting on the success of the recently early-access-released Spellcasters Chronicles. They intend to use the earnings to complete the development of Star Wars Eclipse. However, if the game fails to meet expectations and flops, NetEase may allegedly withdraw from further investments in Quantic Dream entirely. Unfortunately, such an outcome is quite possible — Spellcasters Chronicles has a "Mixed" (60%) rating on Steam, and its peak concurrent players on the platform did not even reach a thousand.
Quantic Dream and NetEase have not commented on the Insider Gaming reports.
