Ustwo Games announced as keynote speaker for Develop:Brighton 2026
Ustwo Games has been chosen as the initial keynote speaker for this year's Develop:Brighton event, as announced by the organizers. The game's studio leadership, CEO Maria Sayans, Chief Creative Officer Daniel Gray, and Chief Development Officer Peter Pashley, will partake in a fireside chat entitled 'Ustwo Games: A Positively Playful Business,' where they will delve into the company's 14-year journey.
Recognized for creating titles such as the Monument Valley series, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, and Desta: The Memories Between, the discussion will highlight "the origins of Ustwo and how their games have left a significant mark." Earlier in the year, Ustwo made the strategic decision to pivot towards PC to establish a "more direct" connection with its community.
Maria Sayans commented, "This change arises from recognizing the limitations encountered on PC and consoles when perceived predominately as a mobile-first developer, leading to trade-offs in both product design and market strategies."
Sayans further explained that PC is now considered the primary platform, allowing for closer interactions with the audience, while console and mobile platforms continue to provide wider access. Besides Ustwo's presentation, other industry leaders from Respawn Entertainment, PlayStation Studios, and EA's Full Circle Studio were announced as speakers last month.
Develop:Brighton 2026 will be hosted at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, spanning from July 14 to July 16.
