Ziff Davis has revealed a new partnership with IGN France, marking an expansion in its international licensing strategy

Ziff Davis, which owns IGN Entertainment and is the parent of GamesIndustry.biz, has formed a new collaboration with European media company eMense to manage IGN France. eMense already holds licenses to run IGN Benelux, IGN Nordic, and IGN Germany.
Since 2020, IGN France has been overseen by an editorial team led by Erwan Lafleuriel, who will continue their roles following the shift to eMense. Lafleuriel remarked on the partnership, calling it an "exciting next step" to enhance and build upon the existing value of IGN France. The French edition was initially launched in 2015 by Webedia, which currently manages IGN Brasil.
Adam Doree, SVP of Global Partners at Ziff Davis, expressed happiness over expanding operations with eMense, a long-standing partner. He highlighted that the competitiveness of European markets requires strategic value creation, a process in which eMense excels by nurturing a dynamic local strategy for IGN.
Camiel Slingerland, CEO of eMense, commented on the popularity of games, entertainment, and fan culture in France, making it a strategic focus for growth. Slingerland expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Lafleuriel and his team to this new venture, aiming to elevate IGN France further.
According to eMense, the combined multi-platform outreach of the four IGN brands they manage now reaches about 16 million users, based on data from Google Analytics and platform statistics. Globally, IGN's total multi-platform audience spans 366 million users across 30 international editions in over 100 countries.
This collaboration is part of a broader expansion strategy, which includes a forthcoming agreement with another partner to establish a French edition of Ziff Davis's CNET brand, reflecting the firm's ongoing efforts to extend its brand licensing initiatives.
