Planet of Lana developers have been newly announced as part of the Nordic Game speaker line-up

The Nordic Game conference, scheduled for May 26–29 at Slagthuset in Malmö, has revealed a new set of speakers and its first-ever AI Track to GamesIndustry.biz.

Representatives from Wishfully, including Adam Stjärnljus and Klas Eriksson, creators of the 2023 production Planet of Lana and its sequel, will share their journey of developing the game over a span of 30 years.

Juliette Auverny-Bennetot from Raw Fury/Combined Effect will offer insights on "New Rules of Game Publishing," focusing on what publishers seek and how contracts are structured. Trine Laier from Those Eyes will cover innovative approaches to game mechanics that captivate players.

John Dower, with past collaborations with Rockstar Games and Saber Interactive, will discuss the role of motion capture in today's game development, while Amanda Gardfors Granberg and Alexander Benitez of Windup Games will dive into player-centric design strategies.

Other notable speakers include Anna Norrevik of DICE discussing the collaborative effort behind Battlefield 6, and Gerardo Basurto from Embark Studios on the success of Arc Raiders. Additional speaker announcements can be found here.

The event will also include the Nordic Pitch, offering a platform for developers to present their games in three minutes, alongside the Games Industry Network's extensive professional networking tools.

Featured speakers for the AI Track include Alastair and Alexander Chamorro from Infinity Fiction, Jeff Gardiner from Something Wicked Games, and John Clark, formerly of Sega Europe, serving as an advisor to Infinity Fiction. They will discuss "Human-Led AI: the Future of Role Playing Games," emphasizing how AI can enhance storytelling while preserving intellectual property and player trust.

Tatu Petersen-Jessen of Odd Latent will explore the formation of their AI-focused studio in "How Odd Latent & AI is Redefining What it Means to be a Developer," and Ewa Antczak of Felixa will analyze creating safer online environments.

Jan Schnyder from Nunu AI will address the efficacy of AI in quality assurance testing with the presentation "AI Game QA: What actually works today?"

The Nordic Game expects over 3,000 attendees in 2026, showcasing more than 100 indie titles. Event tickets are offered at a €100 discount until April 30.

Jacob Riis, Nordic Game's program director, discussed with GamesIndustry.biz the shift towards indie gaming as a response to current industry trends, detailed in an interview.
