Windows Phone Counteroffensive
Microsoft Corporation plans to expand the audience of its mobile platform at the expense of Android and iOS users. The Internet demo version of Windows Phone 7 is used as a promotion tool.
The other day, Microsoft launched an HTML5 website that allows you to get to know the advertised WP7 MANGO OS interface – Metro UI. Now any Android or iOS user can launch a demo version of the Microsoft mobile system on their smartphone: to do this, just go to aka.ms/wpdemo .
In the WP7 demo version, you can personally figure out what hubs are in the new OS, understand how to work with the task list and edit photos in WP7. In general, take a closer look at the design of the system.
According to tech analysts from the Techshout portal, the experience when working with WP through a browser differs from the experience of working with the original system. On the other hand, despite this, the Windows Phone Internet application gives an opportunity to get acquainted with the new OS to those who are tired of the shortcomings of Android or who are bored with Apple’s operating system.
Recall that the official release of the new version of Windows Phone – number 7.5 – took place this September. In comparison with the original 7th version, released a year ago, more than 500 innovations have appeared in it.
It is too early to say whether the upgrade of the system has affected sales. At the moment, it is only known that in the third quarter of 2011, according to Gartner, Microsoft’s share in the mobile systems market, compared with the third quarter of 2010, decreased from 2.7% to 1.5%.
