Media: It seems that the developer studio Highguard has closed following the game
Wildlight Entertainment may have ceased to exist, according to MP1st.

As noted by journalists, the studio recently deleted its LinkedIn account and shut down its official website — now attempting to access the latter results in a "Page Not Found" message.
Additionally, it was discovered that the head of Wildlight Entertainment, Chad Grenier, recently updated his LinkedIn description, indicating that he has not worked at the studio since March 2026.
However, Wildlight Entertainment has not officially announced its closure.
Wildlight Entertainment was founded in 2021 by former Respawn Entertainment employees, who had previously worked on Apex Legends and Titanfall. The team's debut project was the failed shooter Highguard, rumored to have been partially funded by the Chinese giant Tencent. The game was released on January 26, 2026, but its servers were shut down just a month and a half later, on March 12, 2026.
In mid-February, Wildlight Entertainment underwent layoffs. According to media reports, the studio's staff was reduced from 100 to 20 people afterwards. It is possible that Wildlight Entertainment has since let go of the remaining employees, but this is not confirmed.
