Ballistic Moon, known for developing the Until Dawn remake, has shut down

In a significant development, Ballistic Moon, the creators of the 2024 remake of "Until Dawn," has officially ceased operations.

In November 2025, paperwork was submitted to remove Ballistic Moon from the Companies House registry. The final notice on February 3, 2026, confirmed the company's shutdown.

Speculation about Ballistic Moon's future began in March of the previous year when reports emerged that the studio was "effectively closed." This came after a series of layoffs in September 2024 when the company downsized in an effort to "secure its future."

During the redundancy phase, 40 employees were let go. It was also reported that 20 additional staff members were dismissed quietly last year, leaving primarily the studio's founders and perhaps a few other members.

The studio was established in 2020 by Duncan Kershaw, Neil McEwan, and Chris Lamb, who had all previously been associated with Supermassive Games.
