Roblox has introduced two new initiatives, Incubator and Jumpstart, aimed at supporting "ambitious creators eager to build and scale" their projects.

Roblox has unveiled two initiatives to nurture "ambitious and curious creators eager to build and scale": Roblox Incubator and Roblox Jumpstart.
The Incubator is a six-month initiative designed for experienced teams to fine-tune exciting new games into refined, scalable, and commercially viable products. Participants will receive mentorship and support from Roblox's subject matter experts and assistance in building an audience for their games.
Conversely, Roblox Jumpstart is an ongoing initiative aiming to guide beginner creators in understanding the platform while aiding seasoned developers in exploring new game ideas. Support from Roblox experts is available in this program as well.
Applications for both the Incubator and Jumpstart programs are currently open, with Jumpstart accepting applications on an ongoing basis.
"Roblox developers continue to impress us with their creativity," remarked Vlad Loktev, Roblox's chief creator ecosystem officer.
"Our aim is to make Roblox the go-to platform for users of all ages, and we're encouraging creators with innovative ideas to craft the next wave of engaging experiences. These programs equip them with the guidance, resources, and discovery tools needed to transform those ideas into commercially successful ventures."
In addition to this announcement, Roblox highlighted new age-verified data showing a "significant opportunity within the older user cohort."
By the end of January, 45% of daily active users had completed age verification, with 27% of this group being over 18. This demographic is a key growth engine, especially in the US, where the 18-34 age group is expanding by over 50%, more than twice the growth rate of those under 18, and is monetizing at 40% higher rates," stated Roblox.
"These initiatives address the rapidly expanding audience of users over 18. Using the new age-verified data, the company is focusing on developing high-quality and novel games in popular genres for a diverse, older, and more valuable audience."
Previously, gamesindustry.biz noted that Roblox contested claims regarding its failure to protect children, following a lawsuit filed by Los Angeles officials that alleged the platform did not safeguard children from predatory actions.
This mirrored actions by the Australian government, which called for Roblox to address concerns about child exploitation on its service.
