At the UKIE Video Game Awards 2026, Battlefield 6 was honored with the Game of the Year award

The UKIE Game Awards 2026 unfolded last night, celebrating Battlefield 6 by Battlefield Studios as the UK Game of the Year and the top PC game. This first-person shooter, developed in part by Criterion Games in Guildford, achieved sales of over seven million units within three days, marking the most successful launch for the Battlefield series. It also became the top-selling game of 2025 in the United States.

The award for best console game was given to Rebellion's Atomfall, while FuturLab's Powerwash Simulator secured the title for best mobile game. Train Sim World VR: New York, developed by Just Add Water and Dovetail Games, won the best UK mixed reality game category.

Glowmade's King of Meat received the accolade for best user-generated content. However, Amazon Game Studios recently announced that the servers for this online multiplayer game will be shut down on April 9, 2026, citing difficulties in attracting the desired player base.

Playstack was named best publisher for the second consecutive year. nDreams took home the best developer award, although the Farnborough-based company recently shared plans for "significant" restructuring, including reducing staff and closing two studios.

Additionally, four leaders were honored in the UK Games Industry Hall of Fame: Debbie Bestwick, Richard Bartle, Jon Ingold, and Kristian Segerstrale.
