Mellow, a platform for managing contractors, has unveiled a new initiative aimed at helping independent developers cut down their operational expenses.

The initiative, known as Mellow's Indie Launchpad, integrates the company’s Contractor Management platform. This service facilitates processes such as hiring, contracting, legal documentation, and financial management.

Participating indie studios will receive six months of complete access to these resources, allowing them to "engage with remote experts over 100 countries globally."

The initiative targets emerging development teams of up to 15 individuals involved in desktop, mobile, and online projects.

Through this program, Mellow intends to assist up to 50 independent studios, accepting applications until 2026. Complete service access comes at "a nominal fee of $1 per contractor monthly to cover legal aspects."

Developers interested in joining the program can apply here.

According to Mellow's data, overhead costs typically comprise 5% to 15% of a studio's budget. Additionally, managing contractors manually can consume between 100 and 300 hours and cost from $5,000 to $15,000 each quarter in administrative tasks.

"Our extensive experience with indie studios has revealed the immense financial pressures they endure. The current market conditions only heighten these challenges," stated Mellow's VP of Growth, Alexander Norovyatkin.

"Although we can't alter market instabilities, we can provide a dependable environment for studios to streamline their operations, cut out paperwork, and reduce admin costs. Our mission is to redirect resources towards what truly counts: the creation of new worlds."
