Ironwood Studios has secured $4 million in a seed funding round
Ironwood Studios, known for its game Pacific Drive, has obtained $4 million in seed funding, spearheaded by Lifelike Capital.
These funds are earmarked for the development of their forthcoming project.
Ironwood Studios CEO and creative director Cassandra Dracott expressed gratitude and excitement for the new opportunities this funding provides, stating, "This funding round points us towards the best version of that future and we're thrilled to work alongside Lifelike Capital to make it a reality."
Randy Lee, co-founder and general partner at Lifelike Capital, praised the talent at Ironwood, stating, "Their ability to build an immersive world and innovative gameplay, combined with a proven track record of shipping and launching a game, makes them a natural partner for Lifelike."
Established in Seattle in 2019, Ironwood Studios launched its debut game, Pacific Drive, in February 2024.
By mid-July, the survival driving game achieved 600,000 sales globally and surpassed the one million sales mark within its first year.
In December 2024, horror filmmaker James Wan acquired the adaptation rights to transform Pacific Drive into a TV series.
The website GamesIndustry.biz conducted an interview with Ironwood's CEO after Pacific Drive's launch to discuss the studio's development process and its collaboration with Kepler Interactive.
