According to “YuKassa,” last year the number of gaming transactions in Russia increased by 19%, while the average check decreased by 9%—coming to 508 rubles. However, the reduction in the average check did not prevent gaming online platforms that accept payments through “YuKassa” from increasing their annual payment turnover by the same 9%. As specialists explained, Russian gamers simply made small purchases regularly instead of spending large sums on games at once.

The experts also shared statistics on Steam. By the end of 2025, the turnover of top-ups in Valve's store through “YuKassa” more than doubled, as did the number of transactions, yet the average check decreased by 4% to 782 rubles.

Additional findings from the “YuKassa” study include:

  • The gaming payment market grew most noticeably in the fourth quarter of 2025, that is, in October-December. During this period, both the number of purchases and the average check, as well as the total turnover of platforms, increased. Thanks are due to the release of premium games and seasonal sales;
  • Towards the end of the year, the turnover of computer clubs in Russia also increased significantly—by 51% compared to the third quarter. The average check there was 297 rubles (+1%);
  • “YuKassa” also surveyed more than 2,000 gamers of different ages. It turned out that currently, 40% of millennials, 38% of Generation X, and 28% of zoomers do not make in-game purchases;
  • 79% of zoomers, 61% of millennials, and 65% of Generation X purchase games in official stores;

The “Alpha” generation plays more actively than others—75% of the young gamers surveyed by “YuKassa” play video games every day*. In second place is Generation X, with 64% playing daily. Next are zoomers (57%) and millennials (51%).

*“YuKassa” specialists noted that they surveyed an insufficient number of “Alpha” generation members for statistically significant conclusions, but the trends are evident.
