Side, a gaming services company, has inaugurated a new facility in Taiwan.
The studio is situated in Taipei's Nangang District and has been labeled as a "strategic move" by the firm, resulting in the creation of 79 new jobs.
With eight years of operations in Taiwan, Side has excelled in 2025 in areas such as quality assurance, localization, and localization quality assurance. This success enabled the Side Taipei team to accomplish over 100 projects while also promoting 10% of its permanent workforce.
The new establishment aims to further these areas while collaborating with other studios within Side's network to enhance "cross functional projects."
According to Frank Chang, head of Side Taipei, "The global gaming sector is experiencing changes, yet the Asian gaming market is expanding, especially in console, PC, and mobile gaming."
Chang emphasized the unique cultural positioning of Side Taipei, noting that people in Taiwan engage deeply with both East Asian and Western cultural content. The studio's expertise in QA, localization, and localization quality assurance positions it well to serve partners on various platforms.
Deborah Kirkham, Side's CEO, stated, "Our new studio in Taipei represents more than a mere expansion; it reflects our dedication to Taiwan's gaming sector and the talented team here."
Kirkham further articulated Side's future direction, stating, "For 2026, the focus will be on enhancing our acclaimed talent and integrating our AI solutions to better serve our clients."
Last year, Side launched two additional studios in Sao Paulo and Saudi Arabia, with the latter developed in collaboration with Savvy Games Group.
