Roblox reported that a virtual concert by Bruno Mars attracted 12.8 million simultaneous viewers on its platform, setting a new single artist record for the most-watched virtual concert within Roblox. Participants of the event received exclusive "Brunito Marsito" brainrot memorabilia, with a total of 5,428,644 items collected.

The performance featured Mars's new song “I Just Might” and the hit track “Locked Out of Heaven” and was presented in the Steal a Brainrot game using Roblox's basic character styles, differing from the custom animations used in Lil Nas X's Roblox concert in 2020.

The event also drew an audience of 10 million live stream viewers across 14 countries and accumulated 53 million social media video views. This surpasses the Guinness World Record of 12.3 million set by Travis Scott's Fortnite concert in 2020, though Epic later reported a peak of 14.3 million concurrent users during its Eminem/Snoop/JuiceWrld/Ice Spice event in 2024.

In 2023, Mars participated in the Fortnite Festival, a rhythm game created by Harmonix, echoing the style of their Rock Band games, which has hosted artists like Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, and Sabrina Carpenter.

"Roblox games are continuously evolving environments designed to maintain player interest," stated Jessica Meehan, Music Partnerships Lead at Roblox. "Artist collaborations introduce a new cultural element to these settings, offering fresh discoveries for players while helping expand audiences and stimulating discussions beyond Roblox. Music plays a vital role in community formation on the platform, and our goal is to enable creator teams to integrate music and intellectual property into their worlds in meaningful ways."

Previously, Roblox had established a partnership with Sony Music to feature its artists on the platform. Recently, Roblox began implementing age verification for in-game chat users, responding to ongoing concerns about children encountering inappropriate content.

The article has been revised to include further details regarding the world record and additional comments from Roblox.
