Doug Bowser, the former president of Nintendo of America, has been appointed to Hasbro's board of directors

Doug Bowser, who previously held the positions of president and COO at Nintendo of America, has taken a new role on Hasbro's board of directors. Joining him is Carla Vernón, the CEO of The Honest Company.
"We are thrilled to welcome Doug and Carla to our experienced and dynamic board of directors," stated Hasbro's board chairman, Rich Stoddart. Their considerable leadership skills in handling consumer brands and managing franchises are expected to be essential as Hasbro forges ahead with its plans for innovation and growth."
Hasbro's CEO, Chris Cocks, commented, "Doug and Carla possess significant expertise in nurturing renowned brands, crafting engaging consumer experiences, and spearheading transformation and innovation in their respective sectors."
After announcing his retirement from Nintendo of America in September 2025, Bowser was followed by Devon Pritchard, who became the company's first female president. Before her promotion, Pritchard held the position of executive vice president of business affairs and public relations, having joined Nintendo in 2006.
Bowser's tenure at Nintendo of America began in 2015 when he was appointed as vice president of sales and marketing. He was elevated to senior vice president a year later. In 2019, he ascended to the role of president and COO, taking over from Reggie Fils-Aimé upon his retirement. Reflecting on his time with the company, Bowser expressed, "Leading Nintendo of America was a tremendous honor, and I am proud of our team's achievements in business outcomes and the experiences we've created for our customers."
