According to the law firm's announcement, this one-year initiative will cover essential topics such as company formation, financing options, commercial agreements, intellectual property, and regulation. The primary activities of the program are scheduled from February to August 2026, with a legal help desk being accessible throughout the entire year.

The application deadline for the Indie Games Collective is Friday, January 23, and selected participants will be notified by February 6.

"Participants will be invited to networking events to connect and share experiences with industry peers," the company explained in their statement.

While there is no fee to join, entry is competitive, and places are limited.

Harbottle & Lewis outlines that participants will have access to "at least" five virtual interactive sessions, and they will be able to join an annual breakfast seminar on February 26, alongside a summer game event.

Additionally, the firm provides access to template agreements addressing basic needs of indie studios at the outset of their journey.

The law firm has a longstanding presence in the gaming sector and has shared its legal expertise with GamesIndustry.biz. Recently, the firm addressed the legal complexities associated with generative AI.
