Amazon MGM Studios has announced a new reality competition show based on the Fallout universe for Prime Video.

In "Fallout Shelter," participants will experience life as inhabitants of a Vault, engaging in a series of challenging activities, strategic decision-making, and moral trials, all competing for a monetary reward.

The show will feature ten episodes and is a collaboration between Kilter Films, known for the Fallout series, and Studio Lambert, producers of "The Traitors" and "Squid Game: The Challenge."

The casting process is open to individuals above the age of 21, with applications closing on February 15, 2026. Filming is scheduled for June 2026, spanning a period of three weeks.

Amazon describes "Fallout Shelter" as combining large-scale trials with intense social, psychological, and narrative gameplay elements. It promises to maintain the distinctive tone and emphasis on choice that has been a hallmark of Fallout for more than a quarter-century.

The show takes its title from the 2015 free-to-play management simulation game.

Since its debut, "Fallout Shelter" has amassed over 230 million downloads globally across platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

After the launch of the latest Fallout series, the game franchise recorded noticeable increases in player engagement and sales across all gaming platforms.

In May 2025, Amazon confirmed the extension of its Fallout television series for a third season. The initial season was released in April 2024.
