A group of 26 developers from the now-closed Netflix-owned studio, Boss Fight Entertainment, have joined forces to establish a new venture called Sunwise Games

Developers who previously worked with Boss Fight Entertainment have united to create a new company called Sunwise Games.
In 2022, Boss Fight Entertainment was acquired by Netflix. This American game studio was well-known for the mobile game Dungeon Boss. However, despite the international success of Squid Game: Unleashed, which obtained widespread popularity according to Irin Berry, a former lead game engineer, Netflix decided to close the studio in October 2025.
The announcement about Sunwise Games was made by CEO and co-founder Berry through a LinkedIn post. Berry described the new enterprise as an "independent PC game studio" that aims to create complex games with lasting engagement, clear development paths, and fair monetization. Sunwise aims to remain small, be led by experienced developers, and focus on sustainability over rapid growth as it prepares to reveal its debut "PC-first" game.
Berry noted, "We had previously developed and launched multiple intricate games together, including one that achieved top rankings in many countries and expanded its reach globally. With our mutual trust and effective large-scale collaboration, our team's unity is unique."
"Rather than disperse, 26 of us made the decision to remain united and continue our work. This choice led to the birth of Sunwise Games. Presently, Sunwise consists of 30 developers, incorporating the original 26 members from Boss Fight and new recruits selected for their expertise, innovation, and aligned values. Our team is seasoned with considerable experience in launching and maintaining large-scale games."
The statement concluded by expressing that Sunwise embodies the future the team aims to cultivate in the gaming industry.
