Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs have been selected for roles in Amazon's Tomb Raider series

Amazon's forthcoming adaptation of Tomb Raider has signed on renowned actors Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs, according to an announcement on Reddit. Isaacs is set to play the role of Atlas DeMornay, the uncle of Lara Croft. Meanwhile, Weaver will portray a new character, Evelyn Wallis, who is depicted as a "mysterious, high-flying woman eager to capitalize on Lara's skills."

The series cast also includes Sophie Turner in the lead role of Lara Croft, announced last September, alongside familiar video game characters Zip, played by Martin Bobb-Semple, and Winston, portrayed by Bill Paterson.

The ensemble will further include Celia Imrie, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein in newly introduced roles.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series showrunner, expressed her excitement, saying, "Tomb Raider boasts a plethora of iconic characters. I am thrilled to have been able to bring some personal and fan favorites to the screen while also introducing a few new rascals of our own to the mix. This cast is beyond my wildest dreams."

Production for the adaptation, which is spearheaded by Waller-Bridge along with Chad Hodge, known for Wayward Pines, is slated to commence on January 19, 2026. The series received the green light from Amazon MGM Studios in May 2024.
