The end of the year is approaching. To mark the occasion, the editorial team at GamesIndustry has published its traditional infographic summarizing key figures for the gaming industry. We’ve highlighted the most important insights from it.
Mario Kart World
In its review, GamesIndustry relied on data from Newzoo, Nielsen GfK, Circana, Famitsu, Sensor Tower, and several other analytics companies.
- The global video game market’s revenue in 2025 reached $197 billion, a 7.5% increase compared to 2024. Nearly half of this sum came from the mobile segment—$108 billion (+7.7%). The console games segment earned $45 billion (+4.2%), while the PC games segment made $43 billion (+10.4%).
- In the US, Battlefield 6 became the best-selling console and PC game from January to November 2025. Joining it in the top five were NBA 2K26, Monster Hunter Wilds, Borderlands 4, and EA Sports College Football 26. It’s worth noting that the US statistics did not include sales of games bundled with consoles, which partly explains why Mario Kart World is absent from the list.

- The top sellers in Japan from December 30, 2024, to November 30, 2025, were Mario Kart World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Monster Hunter Wilds, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, and Super Mario Party Jamboree.
