The Game Awards this year shattered previous viewership records, achieving an impressive total of 171 million global livestreams during its complete broadcast held last week.

Showing an 11% increase from the previous year, when the event attracted 154 million livestreams, the awards experienced a notable rise in audience numbers. Detailed viewership data was gathered from various platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live, X, Kick, Facebook, and Instagram Live, along with several networks in China and JioHotstar in India.

This overall figure excludes numbers from Prime Video, following a collaboration with The Game Awards disclosed in November.

The ceremony hit a peak of 4.4 million concurrent viewers on western platforms including Twitch and YouTube, marking a 9% rise compared to the previous year. Specifically on YouTube, the official feed for TGA peaked at 1.4 million viewers, reflecting an 8% increase from last year.

Incorporating co-streams, which reached new heights with over 8,600 channels, resulted in a 9% climb in TGA's audience, culminating in a 2.4 million concurrent viewers peak.

On December 11, the Game Awards 2025 unfolded, spotlighting Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 as the event's standout, winning in nine of the twelve categories it was in the running for, including Game of the Year, Game Direction, Art Direction, as well as Score and Music. Notably, Jennifer English earned Best Performance for her role as Maelle.

The event also featured numerous game announcements, introducing titles like Larian Studio's Divinity, Remedy Entertainment's Control: Resonant, and the much-anticipated revival of Lara Croft by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog.
