"Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" achieves victory at The Game Awards 2025

Last night's Game Awards saw Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 taking home nine awards, including the prestigious Game of the Year. The title from Sandfall Interactive shone in several categories, winning Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction. Its composer, Lorien Testard, was also honored with the Best Score and Music award.

The game achieved additional recognition by winning Best Independent Game, Best Indie Debut, Best RPG, and Best Performance, celebrating Jennifer English's role as Maelle.

Other winners included Hades 2 by Supergiant Games for Best Action Game, while Team Cherry's Hollow Knight: Silksong secured Best Action/Adventure Game. Nintendo was awarded Best Family Game for Donkey Kong Bananza and Best Sports/Racing Game for Mario Kart World.

Compulsion Games' South of Midnight won the Games for Impact category, No Man’s Sky from Hello Games was acknowledged as the Best Ongoing Game, and Umamusume: Pretty Derby by Cygames Inc. took Best Mobile Game. Arc Raiders by Embark Studios emerged as the Best Multiplayer game.

Noteworthy announcements included a new installment in the Divinity series from Larian Studios, along with a sequel to Control (2019), called Control: Resonant, by Remedy Entertainment. Crystal Dynamics also unveiled two new Tomb Raider games.

In addition, Capcom provided an in-depth look at Resident Evil: Requiem. Upcoming titles from Arcanaut Studios and Fuse Games include two new Star Wars games, and the classic Mega Man is making a comeback.
