Jim Ward, renowned voice actor known for his portrayal of Captain Qwark in the Ratchet & Clank series, has passed away at the age of 66.
The somber announcement was made by Stephanie Miller, his long-time colleague from The Stephanie Miller Show, on social media. In her post, she referred to Ward as a "voice deity," sharing that he passed away on December 10 at 10:45 am.
Beginning collaboration with Miller in 2004, Ward had a significant impact on the world of voice acting. In addition to his work on television and film, he was heavily involved in the gaming industry, contributing his voice to numerous titles such as Fallout 4, Dota 2, Marvel Heroes, Metal Gear, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, Call of Duty, and many editions of Ratchet & Clank. However, due to his battle with Alzheimer's disease, he did not participate in the most recent installment, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Ward's last contribution to a video game was in Quake Champions in 2022.
